Music, Art, Drama and dance form part of our curriculum. Here kids flourish. They learn to express themselves through the arts and develop free-thinking, creative and intellectual minds.

Formal Art, Drama, Dance and Music lessons are incorporated into our curriculum from Grade R to Grade 7. Our incredibly dynamic arts department mentor our children in a way that ensures they perform with confidence in front of an audience and enjoy creating art.

Annual Stage Production
The team’s unflagging energy and enthusiasm results in an annual professional stage production (learnt from script) every year, involving every learner in the primary school. Previous productions include Xanadu (South African premiére) Peter PanFame JrAlice in WonderlandMulan and more.

Eisteddfod Achievers
All our primary school learners are afforded the opportunity to participate in the National Eisteddfod. Orban School has managed to win the award for the Best Overall Performance for an Institution in the Johannesburg region for 10 consecutive years now – from 2010 to 2019 (the region includes all schools and arts institutions from Johannesburg North, South, Central and East).

Annual Art Exhibition
We host an annual art exhibition showcasing the best of Orban’s art, including at least one work by every learner and all the artworks that received awards at the Eisteddfod during the year.

Orban is privileged to have both a junior and senior choir. In 2019 our senior choir made their television debut in the final Gauteng round of KykNet’s choir competition: Sing in Harmonie.
