Orban is a dual medium school committed to providing an exceptional education and a high academic standard.

Language Diversity

We believe the medium of instruction is as important as the content. That is why we have English and Afrikaans home language classes and from Grade R we offer isiZulu as a second additional language for all. We believe language serves as a vehicle for expressing thoughts and feelings.

Our Academic Focus

English and Afrikaans home language classes
We have English and Afrikaans home language classes per year group.
We follow a four term CAPS enriched curriculum in all fields of knowledge: Language, Life Skills, Social Sciences, Natural Science, Mathematics, Technology, as well as isiZulu, Computers and Physical Training. As part of our curriculum we have a special focus on Music, Art, Drama and Dance.

No more than 20 learners per class
Our teachers are carefully selected to have the necessary qualifications and experience in their areas of expertise. Classes do not exceed 20 learners – it ensures that our children receive the best possible attention and support throughout their years of pre-primary and primary education.

Blended learning and innovative teaching
Orban adopted Google’s G Suite for Education enabling us to simultaneously teach in our physical classrooms at school and online in our Google Classrooms. The G Suite technology provides Orban with a safe platform to interact with our learners in a more technilogically advanced environment and so we’ve decided to implement a blended learning approach in order to prepare our learners to the best for the future to the best of our ability.

Orban School also incorporates the STEAM approach and prepares learners for scientific and computing research, by consolidating basic, fundamental skills in Science, Technology, the Arts and Mathematics across subject borders.

Arts and Culture

Music, Art, Drama and Dance form part of our curriculum. Our dynamic Arts Department ensures the learners enjoy performing and do so with confidence. Click on below button to see how we incorporate creative expression as part of your child’s learning experience.
