Orban School boast a rich heritage as one of the first schools ever to be built in Melville nearly 70 years ago, and sits at the foot of the majectic Melville Koppies Nature Reserve. The school also expaneded to the two neighbouring houses to incorporate extra classes for early learning and aftercare.

At the heart of the school buildings, are our early learning playground. A fun and vibrant space designed to offer our learners an area where they can safely play and enhance muscle development and coordination.

The sports fields surrounding the school belong to the University of Johannesburg. The school has special permission to use these facilities and may use these for sport events and special fun days at Orban.

We have recently completed our newly renovated library. This beautifully crafted space now boast a quiet reading corner, open floor space for book readings and shelves filled with books from our most acclaimed South African and International authors. Regular children’s book launches and readings will be hosted at Orban as part of our focus on language development.
